What's Working - Sept Chapter Meeting
We had our first meeting for the Academic Year of 2020-2021 in September on Zoom. Our topic was 'What's working for you? Teaching CS Online.' We found out that we had lots of strategies from classroom teaching that were working well teaching online. And we suggested strategies for issues identified.
What We Did This Summer

Over the summer, NCWIT hosted a series of Conversations for Change, an online thought leadership series. Our own Colleen Lewis was one of the speakers for change. You can find the recording at

In August we hosted a tri-chapter Workshop joining up with the SoCal South Bay Chapter and the Orange County Chapter where we explored syllabus alignment. Our next event is September 17th to to share what’s working this year. Join Us!

Our Beginning

In 2015, Juan Palomares, after being part of the CSTA Southern California chapter and living far from the meeting location, saw the need to create a CSTA chapter in the Inland Empire, and initiated the process to create the Computer Science Teacher Association Inland Empire chapter. He networked with Professor Colleen Lewis, from Harvey Mudd College located in the city of Claremont, California. Professor Lewis became excited about the project to provide guidance and resources to the teachers in the Inland Empire who use some kind of technology.

In September of 2016, the new CSTAIE chapter became into existence after a long process, and with the support of Harvey Mudd College, we hope other teachers, colleges and districts in the Inland Empire area will join us to collaborate and share ideas.

We invite you to explore our webpage and website and join us to support Computer Science.
